寿司の歴史
大きな括りで寿司の発祥は日本ではないそうです。
握り寿司の誕生は1829年頃の江戸（昔の東京の呼び名）とされています。
この頃は今の握り寿司と近くなりましたが違いは、当時の寿司は超ビッグサイズだったようです。その後、関西方面へ広まりました。

History of Sushi
It is said that sushi did not originate in Japan in a large scale.
Nigiri-zushi is said to have been born around 1829 in Edo (the old name for Tokyo).
At that time, nigirizushi was closer to today's nigirizushi, but the difference was that sushi at that time was very big in size. Later, it spread to the Kansai region.
